Welcome aboard, Creya’tors and Curious MeerKats! The Summer of Discovery Camps are your passport to set sail on a voyage of imagination, creativity, and hands-on learning, all at the fascinating and innovative environs of T-Works! 

Machines Mania is a camp for inquisitive and adventurous youngsters from Grades 5 – 7 (Ages 9 – 10), where engineering meets excitement tailored for curious minds to explore the world of engineering construction. Campers try to grasp the fundamentals of force, effort and work, uncovering how simple machines streamline our tasks as they build the simple machines through engaging hands-on activities.

Camp Activities

See-Saw

Campers will delve into the world of levers by constructing their own see-saw, gaining hands-on experience with the principles of balance and motion.

Pulley Frame

Campers explore the mechanics of pulleys as they construct a simple pulley frame, discovering how this device makes lifting heavy loads effortless.

Cart Launcher

Experimenting with wheels and axles by designing and launching carts, campers explore concepts of friction and momentum through an exciting hands-on activity.

Message Sending Machine

The capstone will test the inventive thinking capabilities as campers brainstorm and devise a message sending machine, applying engineering concepts to solve real-world challenges in innovative ways.
