Tech Luminate is a camp for inquisitive and adventurous youngsters from Grades 6 – 8 (Ages 11 – 13) to dive into the thrilling world of robotics. They get to spend time bringing wheeled rovers to life, turning light into commands, and navigating the world of coding with variables and functions. Campers will construct a wheeled rover, gaining insights into the mechanics of robotic vehicles and the intricacies of programming through the RoboPro Coding App. Through hands-on activities, they explore the concept of variables, functions, LEDs, photo-resistors, phototransistors, and IR sensors and actuators.

Camp Activities

Explorer Bot and Introduction to Coding

Campers build a wheeled rover and program it using RoboPro Coding App to move around thus getting introduced to the mechanics and the programming
behind wheeled robotic vehicles.

Infrared Sensors and Actuators

Exploring the functioning of infrared sensors and programming the TXT Controller to analyse sensor input for colour detection or proximity, campers get to control actuators based on the sensor input, a key skill in robotics.

Light Sensors and Manoeuvring

Campers get to explore light barriers & photoresistors, essential components that allow robots to navigate using light. Campers experiment with these sensors to guide their robots through various obstacles.

Capstone Project

Campers will design and build an unmanned parking system designed for physically challenged individuals. This project consolidates their learning of coding, sensor integration, and mechanical design to solve a real-world challenge.
