Welcome to Robo Roamers!
Robo Roamers is a camp for curious and adventurous youngsters from Grades 1 – 4 (Ages 6 – 9) to dive into a summer adventure where tiny hands tackle big ideas! In this camp, kids unleash the power of technology and exploration.
Imagine a world where robots easily respond to sound, detect colors, and navigate obstacles! Our campers will understand the concept of sound input & output and learn to program wheeled robotic vehicles to perform different maneuver abilities. Alongside these thrilling activities, this camp introduces kids to the basics of robotics and robotic controllers, unravels the mysteries of programming, and explores the fascinating interplay between sensors and actuators.
Camp Activities
Build your Robbie
Our young campers will engage in a practical session where they assemble their Robbie robot. They will gain insight into the components and assembly process through hands-on instruction. Experienced instructors guide them through the construction process, fostering creativity and allowing for experimentation.
Switch Sensor + Sound Input
Campers will grasp the fundamentals of programming, including input and output concepts. They will delve into the mechanics of sound sensors, culminating in programming the robotic vehicle to generate diverse sounds in varying situations.
IR Sensor + Identify Obstacle
Campers will extend their exploration of robotic sensors with a focus on IR sensors. They will learn about detecting and avoiding obstacles, crucial skills for navigating robotic devices. Through programming exercises and hands-on activities, participants equip robots to recognize obstacles and respond accordingly.
Bringing it all Together
Integrating knowledge from previous days, campers tackle an engaging challenge. Applying sensor interactions and programming knowledge, campers will overcome obstacles in a stimulating scenario, promoting problem-solving skills and fostering teamwork.
