Innovation 101: Intro to Design & Prototyping

In today’s academic and professional landscape, having good grades is important but not just enough. You need the Design Thinking mindset and the Maker toolset to not just empathise, ideate but prototype and present to innovate at startup speed. Innovation 101 is a 6-day, immersive program crafted by Creya, India’s pioneer in STEM Learning, Design Thinking & Maker Spaces since 2011, it gives high school students (Grades 8 – 12) hands-on experience in innovation and prototyping. 

Through interdisciplinary teamwork, real-world challenges, and expert guidance in an inspiring environment surrounded by the best of STEM Lab equipment and Maker Tools , from Robotics and IoT to AI and Apps to 3D printers to laser cutters,  you’ll will have access to everything to convert your idea to a working prototype, to do your bit to change the world.  In the process you emerge, ready to shine in science fairs, hackathons, design competitions, college applications, and future entrepreneurial ventures with a solid project portfolio, memories , certificates and fellow innovators as friends for life. 

Program Overview

The 6-day journey is split into three phases

 Master cutting-edge technologies through hands-on projects where you design, build and automate 

  • robotics and integrate with AI to create autonomous solutions
  • discover how the Internet of Things (IoT) enables automation and smart environments
  • create and launch apps for business or social impact —no prior coding experience required.
  • 3d printers, laser cutters and other maker tools to turn ideas into impact

Form teams, identify a real-world and build working prototype applying skills from phase 1

  • discover collaborators in your cohort to define, research, ideate and design solutions
  • work with mentors to refine the prototype as you test , fail and succeed 

Present your project in a pitch deck and live demonstration before industry experts.

  • prepare your pitch deck capturing your learning journey, the problem and solution
  • present to your peers, external experts and gain industry feedback 
  • Graduate with a certificate, confidence and a solid project portfolio
